Creative Discovery in PaintShop Pro
Lesson 10

You will need these supplies. I have zipped them up for you.

Download them, unzip and place the D_gold fold.bmp in your Patterns folder, where you keep your PSP stuff.
Place the Sarparilla font into your font folders
Place the .pspimages into folders also

First - Wait for the Video player to load
Then - You need to watch the video before doing lesson below - it has a lot more important information and explanations for you
You may do the lesson as you watch the video though
Also - Click the full screen button on the player to watch it full screen or you may not see all of the settings properly

1. PREPARATIONS

Activate your Sarsaparilla Font in Font Base (or whatever font program you are using)

2. RULERS & TEXT

View > Rulers
Check the (X: Y:) numbers in the bottom Right corner - that will tell you exactly where your mouse is within your image.

Click on the Text tool - Use the following Settings:-
• Font - Sarsaparilla
• Size - 100 - Pixels
• Font Style - Bold
• Font Colour - D_gold fold Pattern (Background box)
• Alignment - centre
• Direction - Left to Right
• Anti-alias -Sharp
• Stroke width - 1
• Stroke Colour - Black (Foreground box)
• Create as - Floating

Click OK

Now locate the centre of the image - check the number down in the bottom right (X: 200 Y:200)
Click in the Centre & Type your Name in CAPITALS - this is important
Click the Apply Button

A new box - Browse for Folder - will pop open.
Browse for the Folder where you placed your patterns into at the beginning of this lesson.
Select that folder and Click OK

You can now turn the rulers off if you wish = View > Rulers

Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel Use these settings:-
• Bevel - # 3
• Width - 8
• Smoothness - 60
• Depth - 18
• Ambience - 80
• Shininess - 40
• Colour - White
• Angle - 315
• Intensity - 40
• Elevation - 32

Click OK

Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow
Use these settings:-

• Vertical - 5
• Horizontal - 5
• Opacity - 40
• Blur - 12
• Colour - Black

Click OK

Right click on this layer - it Says Floating Selection at the moment.
Click on Promote Selection to Layer
Rename the layer - TEXT.
Deselect

3. ADDING THE PSP IMAGES

Locate the frog and film strip images and open them in PaintShop Pro
Duplicate them and close the originals

Copy the Frog and Paste as a New Layer
Position him sitting on top of your text towards the left side - his leg will hang down the side of your text.

Copy Layer 1 of the Film Strip and Paste as a New Layer
Drag the Film Strip layer below the text
Resize the Film Strip - 95% & Resize all Layer UNTICKED

Move the Film Strip up until it looks like he is resting his hand on it
Lower the opacity of that to 60

Close Raster 1 (the white layer on the bottom) and Have any layer except Raster 1 Selected
Layers > Merge > Merge Visible
Open Raster 1

4. FLIP

Duplicate the Merged Layer by Right Clicking on that Layer in the layer palette - and Click Duplicate
Image > Flip > Flip Vertical

Move the Flipped image down to underneath the upright image and line them up EXACTLY - just touching

5. BUTTONIZE

Save as:- YourName-Lesson10
