Project 12

Including content to Lesson 27

You will need these supplies:-
PSP Images, word art & picture frame

Project 12 Zip File

Download, then unzip to a folder where you store your psp images, word art, picture frames.

I have also used a texture that we used in a previous project, so you should have this one. You will also need this Image from Pixabay

First - Wait for the Video player to load
Then - You need to watch the video before doing lesson below - it has a lot more important information and explanations for you
You may do the lesson as you watch the video though
Also - Click the full screen button on the player to watch it full screen or you may not see all of the settings properly





1. PREPARE

Browse for Supplies
Angel Image from Pixabay
Angel0~LippsDF.psp
dani_mogstad_Cherish_blk.psp (word Art)
sunaccent_mdh.pspimage (sun)

Open these in PaintShop Pro
Duplicate - Shift + D and close the originals - minimize all except the Angel Image from Pixabay
Place ads_frame9.PspFrame in your Picture Frames folder


2. BACKGROUND & TEXTURED LAYER

Resize the Pixabay Angel Image by 20% and Sharpen
Right click on the Background layer in the layer palette and Promote Background Layer - now Raster 1

By activating the Dropper Tool, I chose a light cream - #fbf3d0 - Place this into the Foreground Box
I also picked out an ochre colour - #bb9540 - Place this into the Background box.
Go to Image > Canvas Size and change the image to 600 x 450 Pixels
The placement is top left corner
Click OK


Add a New Raster Layer and Flood Fill with the Light Cream in the Foreground Box
Move this layer to the bottom
Go to the Texture icon
    Locate the Grain Long Deep
  • Size = 25
  • Smoothness = 0
  • Depth = 1
  • Ambience = 0
  • Shininess = 0
  • Colour = White
  • Angle = 315
  • Intensity = 50
  • Elevation = 30
Click OK

Activate Raster 1
With the Magic Wand - Contiguous Ticked and No Feathering - Click somewhere on the Cream Area
    Apply an Inner Bevel
  • Bevel = #25
  • Width = 25
  • Smoothness = 5
  • Depth = 4
  • Ambience = 5
  • Shininess = 40
  • Colour = White/li>
  • Angle = 315
  • Intensity = 30
  • Elevation = 50
Click OK
    Apply Drop Shadow
  • Vertical = 15
  • Horizontal = 15
  • Opacity = 45
  • Blur = 15
  • Colour = Black
  • Shadow on New Layer = Unticked
Click OK


Go to Adjust > Softness > Soft Focus
  • Focus Softness = 100
  • Edge Importance = 50
  • Include Scattered Light = Ticked
  • Halo Amount = 50
  • Halo Size = 100
  • Halo Visibility = 50
Click OK
Deselect


3. ANGEL IMAGE

Bring up the Angel PSP image - Copy and Paste as a New Layer
Place her at the bottom and as far to the right as you can without chopping her wing off.

Activate the Freehand Selection Tool
  • Selection Type = Freehand
  • Mode = Replace
  • Feather = 20
  • Anti-alias = Ticked
  • Smoothing = 5
Just draw around her arm where it is chopped off and hit the delete key once.
Deselect
Add the same Drop shadow as before



4. SUN ACCENT

Open the Sun Accent
Copy and Paste it as a New Layer
Shift it to the top right corner so we only see a little over 1/4 of it. There will be 4 silver petals showing.
Change the Blend Mode to Multiply
Lower the Opacity to 60%
Apply the same drop Shadow as before



5. BACKGROUND

Click on Raster 2
Add a New Raster Layer
Go to the Materials Palette and Locate the Pattern with the same image number as you are working on.

~ Angle = 45
~ Scale =50


Click OK
Flood Fill the empty Raster Layer with that Pattern
Apply Guassian Blur of 15
Apply Kaleidoscope Effect
  • Horizontal Offset = -84
  • Vertical Offset = 33
  • Rotation Angle = 0
  • Scale Factor = 31
  • Number of Petals = 5
  • Number of Orbits = 0
  • Radial Suction = 0
  • Edge Mode = Reflect
Click OK

Go to Mosaic Antique
  • Number of Columns = 100
  • Number of Rows = 100
  • Symmetric = Ticked
  • Tile Diffusion = 50
  • Grout Width = 1
  • Grout Diffusion = 50
Click OK

Lower Opacity of that layer to around 60
Lower the Opacity of Layer 1 to 70


Image > Canvas Size

Place 650 in the Width and with the Lock Aspect Ratio Ticked, the Height should now be 487
Placement with be Centre
Click OK
Activate your Cream Background Layer
With the Magic Wand - Contiguous Ticked and No Feathering - Click somewhere in the transparent area.
Activate the Layer with the Sun & hit the delete key on your keyboard
Invert the Selection
Merge Visible & Deselect

Apply a Drop Shadow.
  • Vertical = 5
  • Horizontal = 5
  • Opacity = 45
  • Blur = 5
  • Colour = Black
  • Shadow on New Layer = Unticked
Click OK

Repeat the Drop Shadow, changing the Vertical and Horizontal to Negative 5

6. BORDERS

Add a New Raster Layer
Flood Fill with the Ochre in the Background box
Move this Layer to the bottom


Go to Blinds
  • Width = 3
  • opacity = 50
  • Colour = Black
  • Horizontal = Ticked
  • Light from left/top = Unticked
Click OK

Add a Border of 2 pixels in Black
Add a Border of 2 pixels in Ochre
Add a Border of 2 pixels in Black


7. WORD ART

Open the word art - Copy and Paste as a New Layer
Move it to the bottom left corner
Change the Blend Mode to Luminance (Legacy)
Lower the Opacity to around 65
Apply the same drop shadow we just used



7. PICTURE FRAME

Open the word art - Copy and Paste as a New Layer

Go to Image > Picture Frame
  • Frame = ads_frame9
  • Frame Canvas Selected
  • Frame Outside of the image Selected
  • Nothing Else Selected or Ticked
Colourize

~ Hue = 33
~ Saturation = 149
Click OK & Merge all (Flatten)


Save this as YourName-Project12a


Now Create another one, with your choices of Images, Effects, Text, Picture Frame & Colours to match
But it must include
  • Textured Background with Effects
  • Resized Image with Bevel & Soft Focus
  • Minimum of 2 Psp Images
  • Picture Frame
  • Text or Word Art
  • Blend Modes
Save this as YourName-Project12b
