Project 15

Including content to Lesson 32

You will need these supplies:-
Flowers and Mask

Project 15 Zip File

Download, then unzip to a folder where you store your supplies

I have used the Early Color Picture Frame - If you don't have this you can find it on the Level 2 Downloads Page
You will also need this Girl with Skates Image from Pixabay

I have also used the c&s_b381.pspimage Corners that were supplied for Project 13

First - Wait for the Video player to load
Then - You need to watch the video before doing lesson below - it has a lot more important information and explanations for you
You may do the lesson as you watch the video though
Also - Click the full screen button on the player to watch it full screen or you may not see all of the settings properly

1. PREPARE

Open the Girl with Roller Skates Image - Duplicate and Close the Original
Resize by 30% and Sharpen
Crop the image to just have the girl and her skates with just a bit on each side


Open these images and minimize
~ Gertje_22 (Mask)
~ CJ_Floral_Spray (psp image)
~ c&s_b381 (Corners - supplied for Project 13)
If you don't have the Picture Frame "Early Color" grab that from the Website - Level 2 Downloads page

2. ADD PICTURE FRAME

Go to Image > Picture Frame OR click on your Picture Frame icon
Locate the Early Color Picture Frame and have these selected or Ticked

~ Frame Canvas
~ Frame outside of the Image
~ Rotate Frame Right

Click OK & Merge Visible

3. ROTATE GIRL IMAGES

Open a New Raster image of 600 x 600 pixels that is Transparent
Activate the image of the girls and drag her onto the image
Duplicate this twice = 3 copies of the girl
Activate the top layer of the girl
Go to Image > Free Rotate

~ Direction = Right
~ Degrees = Free - 30


Click OK

Activate the next layer down and Repeat the Rotate - Change the degrees to 15


Now with your move tool, spread them out and fan them slightly
Click OK


With your dropper tool, select a pale colour for the foreground box - #c7b596
And select a dark colour for the background box - #6a3731

4. MASK LAYER

Add a New Raster Layer and send it to the bottom of the layer palette
Flood fill the bottom layer with the Paler colour in your Foreground box
Flood fill the next layer up (Raster 1) with the darker colour from you Background box

This is what your layer palette should be like


Bring up the Mask Image
Activate the Image you are working on with the girls
Check that the Darker coloured layer is active on the Girl image

Click on the Mask from Image icon
Locate the Gertje_22 mask
~ Source luminance
~ Invert mask data - UNTICKED
Click OK & Merge Layer Group


Now check the girls and they are how you want them displayed in the fan shape
Close the Bottom 2 layers (Pale colour + Mask)
Merge Visible (have one of the girl layers selected)
Go to Image > Free Rotate

~ Direction = Left
~ Degrees = Free - 8

Click OK
Layers > View > All
Now place them exactly where you want them over the mask

Activate the Mask Layer in the Layer Palette
Click OK

Click OK

5. BORDERS

Add Border of 3 pixels in the dark colour
Add Border of 3 pixels in the pale colour
Add Border of 3 pixels in the dark colour
Select all - Ctrl+A
Contract Selection by 9 pixels
Click OK

Go to the Materials Palette and click on the Gradient selection in the Foreground box
Locate the Foreground-Background gradient
Click OK

Click OK


Add Border of 20 pixels in a colour not in your image
Click somewhere in the last border & Flood Fill with the Gradient

Click OK

Add Border of 3 pixels in the dark colour
Add Border of 3 pixels in the pale colour
Add Border of 3 pixels in the dark colour
Select all - Ctrl+A & Contract Selection by 9 pixels

Click OK

Repeat the Cutout changing both the Offsets to Positive 3
Click OK & Deselect

6. FLORAL IMAGE

Bring up the floral image & Drag it from the Layer Palette to the image
Resize by 75% and Sharpen

With the move tool, shift it over the top right corner of the photo, so the flowers just sit on the creamy edge of the photo


Duplicate this image
Mirror Horizontal & Mirror Vertical, so it is placed in the bottom left corner

7. CORNERS

Bring up the corner & Drag Raster 4 from the Layer Palette to the image
Shift it with the move tool to the bottom left corner sitting on the Mosaic Glass area of your borders


Duplicate that corner
Mirror Horizontal
Close the bottom 2 layers and Merge Visible

Duplicate that layer
Mirror Vertical
Merge Visible & Open the other layers

Go to Adjust > Brightness and Contrast > Fill Light/Clarity
~ Fill Light = 24
~ Clarity = -42

Click OK
Colourize

~ Hue = 30 ~ Saturation = 40 Click OK

Merge All (Flatten)


Save this as YourName-Project15a

Now create another one - your choices of Image, Effects, Mask, Corner, Decor, Colours to match
Save this as YourName-Project15b



Save this as YourName-Project14a

Save this as YourName-Project15b
