You will need these supplies:- Glass Patterns
Project 20 Zip File - Glass Patterns

And also these images
Project 20 Zip File - Images

First - Wait for the Video player to load
Then - You need to watch the video before doing lesson below - it has a lot more important information and explanations for you
You may do the lesson as you watch the video though
Also - Click the full screen button on the player to watch it full screen or you may not see all of the settings properly





1. PREPARE

Unzip and place all of the supplies into the Folder where you keep your goodies.

Locate all 12 of the Glass patterns and open in PaintShop Pro.
You need to make all of these seamless before you can use them - Activate one of the Glass Patterns.
Click on the Seamless Tile Icon.
Use Mirror & Bidirectional OR Choose your own setting - Click OK
Continue to make all of the Glass Patterns into seamless tiles.
You can save these now as seamless tiles to use again later.


2. FIRST PATTERN

Locate the qs4.gif image and open in PaintShop Pro.
Duplicate this image and close the original.
Right click on the Background Layer in your layer Palette and click on Promote Background Layer - You now have a Raster layer.

    Activate the Magic Wand
  • Mode = Replace
  • Match Mode = RGB
  • Tolerance = 50
  • Contiguous = UNTICKED/li>
  • Feather = 0
  • Anti-Alias = Ticked
  • Outside


Click somewhere in the BLACK area
    Apply Inner Bevel
  • Bevel = #1
  • Width = 1
  • Smoothness = 10
  • Depth = 5
  • Ambience = 0
  • Shininess = 80/li>
  • Colour = White
  • Angle = 315
  • Intensity = 25
  • Elevation = 40
Before Clicking OK, go to the Save Icon and Save the Preset - Give it a name (Metallic Grey)
Click OK to save the Preset

Now Click OK at the bottom of the Inner Bevel Window
Deselect - Ctrl + D




In the Materials Palette, Click on Pattern in the Foreground box and then Load glass1.jpg into this box.
~ Angle = 0
~ Scale = 100
Click OK
    Activate the Magic Wand
  • Mode = Add
  • Match Mode = RGB
  • Tolerance = 50
  • Contiguous = TICKED/li>
  • Feather = 0
  • Anti-Alias = Ticked
  • Outside


Click in the 4 WHITE corner areas
Activate the Flood Fill Tool with
~ Match Mode = None
~ Blend Mode = Normal
~ Opacity = 100
Click in any of the corner areas and all 4 will be filled with the glass pattern

Click on the Colourize Icon
~ Hue = 139
~ Saturation = 81
Click OK
Deselect


Add a New Raster Layer
Fill that with the Cream Colour
Right click on the Background layer and Promote Background Layer = Raster 2
Now move the Cream layer underneath and to the Bottom
Right click on Raster 2 and click on Properties
In the Layer Properties box, Lower the Opacity to 50
Click OK

Place glass5.jpg into the Foreground box of the materials Palette
Activate the Magic Wand (keep the last settings)
Click in all 4 of the Diamond Shapes - Top, Bottom, Right, Left
Activate the Flood Fill Tool and Click in any of the Diamond shapes to fill all of them with Glass.

Click on the Hue, Saturation, Lightness Icon
~ Hue = 33
~ Saturation = 76
~ Lightness = 15
Click OK
Deselect

Place glass6.jpg into the Foreground box of the materials Palette
Activate the Magic Wand (keep the last settings)
Click in all 4 curved shapes between the Diamond Shapes
Activate the Flood Fill Tool and Click in any of the Curved shapes to fill all of them with Glass.

Click on the Colourize Icon
~ Hue = 56
~ Saturation = 169
Click OK
Deselect

Place glass11.jpg into the Foreground box of the materials Palette
Activate the Magic Wand (keep the last settings)
Click in all 4 shapes that are left that are the same (you will have only 1 piece left - the very centre piece)
Activate the Flood Fill Tool and Click in any of these shapes to fill all of them with Glass.

Hold the Shift key down and click G on the keyboard to bring up the Gamma Correction window
~ Red = 1
~ Green = 0 .56
~ Blue = 2.9
Click OK
Deselect

Place glass8.jpg into the Foreground box of the materials Palette
Activate the Magic Wand (keep the last settings)
Click in only piece left - the very centre piece
Activate the Flood Fill Tool and Click in this shape to fill with Glass.

Click on the Colourize Icon
~ Hue = 0
~ Saturation = 157
Click OK
Deselect


Save this as YourName-Project20a

3. FROG

Locate the FSongdownload.gif - this is the Frog, Duplicate and close the original
    Activate the Magic Wand
  • Mode = Replace
  • Match Mode = RGB
  • Tolerance = 50
  • Contiguous = UNTICKED/li>
  • Feather = 0
  • Anti-Alias = Ticked
  • Outside


Click somewhere on one of the BLACK lines

Click on the Expand Selection Icon
Number of Pixels = 1
Click OK

Flood fill this selection with Black and you will now have a thicker black line
Click on the Inner Bevel Icon
Find the Metallic Grey Preset that you saved in the settings
Click OK
Deselect

Now follow that same steps as we did in the first one to Colour your Frog in any of the glass patterns and colours that you wish.
Save this as YourName-Project20b

4.OWN CHOICE - WITH THICK LINES

Choose any of the images that I supplied that have thick lines and use any of the glass patterns and any colours.
Don't forget to apply the Inner Bevel first.

Save this as YourName-Project20c



5.OWN CHOICE - WITH THIN LINES

Choose any of the images that I supplied that have thin lines and use any of the glass patterns and any colours.
Don't forget to expand the Selection first and then apply the Inner Bevel.

Save this as YourName-Project20d
