1. FAN
Locate the FAN52.TUB image and open in PaintShop Pro.
Duplicate this image and close the original.
Resize this image by 50% and Sharpen.
Go to Image > Canvas Size
- Width = 300
- Height = 300
- Lock aspect ratio = UNTICKED
- Placement = Centre
Click OK
Click on the Preset Shape tool and go to the Tool Bar.
Locate Ellipse in the Drop down Window
- Anti-alias = Ticked
- Create as Vector = TICKED
- Line Style = Solid
- Width = 2
Place Red in the Foreground box of the materials palette - nothing in the background box.
Draw out a red Circle to fit over the fan.
Shift the circle and adjust the red circle by pulling on the nodes to fit as close as possible around the fan.
Load colours from your image into the boxes of the materials palette.
I chose a cream for the background box and a green for the foreground box - use the eyedropper tool for this.
Activate the Text Tool & use the following settings:
- Font = Any Text you like (I used ChowMein)
- Size = Suitable for your text (I used 30)
- Font Style = None
- Alignment = Left
- Direction = Horizontal & Down
- Anti-Alias = Sharp
- Stroke Width = 1
- Create as = Vector
- Leading = 0
- Kerning = 0
- Offset = 0
- Line Style = Solid
Hold the mouse over the curved line near the bottom of the fan on the left side.
When you see the curved text symbol, then click the mouse to get the Flashing line for the text - this will be outside the red circle.
Type in the words of your choice The words should be sitting on the red circle around the fan.
You can always extra spaces between the words to space them more.
You can also shift the words around the circle by grabbing the move handle in the centre of the box.
Click the Apply Changes tick when you are happy.
Go to the Layer Palette and open the layers by clicking on the white triangle.
Close off the Ellipse Layer - the red circle, so it is no longer visible.
Add an Inner Bevel to the Text
Add a Drop Shadow to both the text and fan layers.
Add a border to display this nicely - You may add corners if you wish
Save this as YourName-Project21a
2. ENVELOPE
Locate the smg_envelopefront-06.tub image and open in PaintShop Pro.
Duplicate this image and close the original.
Click on the Preset Shape tool and go to the Tool Bar.
Locate Rectangle in the Drop down Window
- Anti-alias = Ticked
- Create as Vector = TICKED
- Line Style = Solid
- Width = 2
Place Red in the Foreground box of the materials palette - nothing in the background box.
Draw out a red Rectangle to fit just inside the white edge of the envelope.
You need to be exact on the left side and the top - the right side and bottom do not matter.
Load Black into the Background box of the materials palette - Nothing in the Foreground Box
Activate the Text Tool & use the following settings:
- Font = TT2020Base OR Courier
- Size = Suitable for your text (I used 28)
- Font Style = None
- Alignment = Left
- Direction = Horizontal & Down
- Anti-Alias = Sharp
- Stroke Width = 0
- Create as = Vector
- Leading = 0
- Kerning = 0
- Offset = -20
- Line Style = Solid
Hold the mouse over the curved line towards the bottom of the envelope on the left side.
When you see the curved text symbol, then click the mouse to get the Flashing line for the text - this will be inside the red rectangle.
Type in the words of your choice The words should be sitting on the green area of the envelope along the left side and top.
You can always extra spaces between the words to get it to turn the corner correctly.
You can also shift the words around by grabbing the move handle in the centre of the box.
Click the Apply Changes tick when you are happy.
Go to the Layer Palette and open the layers by clicking on the white triangle.
Close off the Rectangle layer - the red box, so it is no longer visible.
Add your Name in Black in a script font to the Centre of the envelope - Make this larger
I used PassionsConflictROB in 72 Pixels
Also add at least one of the brushes to the envelope - Click on the Paint Brush Tool,
then go up to the tool bar and locate these (a-dozi's-postal 04) - I used #7 and #1
You will need to adjust the size (around 70)
Also lower the Opacity (around 35)
To place them, Right click if you still have the Black in the background box of the materials palette.
Apply Drop Shadow
- Vertical = 5
- Horizontal = 5
- Opacity = 25
- Blur = 5
- Colour = Black
- Shadow on New Layer = Unticked
Click OK
Reapply the Drop Shadow with the Vertical & Horizontal changed to Negative 5
Merge all Layers
