Unzip and place all of the supplies into the Folders where you keep your goodies.
Look back over Lesson 46 for help with this Project if necessary
1. DAFFODILS
Locate the ^Frkn^- daffodils_by_jaguarwoman image and open in PaintShop Pro.
Duplicate this image and close the original.
Click on the Preset Shape tool and go to the Tool Bar.
Locate Ellipse in the Drop down Window
- Anti-alias = Ticked
- Create as Vector = TICKED
- Line Style = Solid
- Width = 2
Place Red in the Foreground box of the materials palette - nothing in the background box.
Draw out a red Circle to fit around the curve of the green leaves .
Shift the circle and adjust the red circle by pulling on the nodes to fit as close as possible.
Click on the Pen tool and check that Edit Mode is highlighted
Make sure the Vector layer is active in the layer palette.
Click on the node on the Right side of the circle to bring up the long handle
Go to Objects > Edit > Reverse contour - Now the path of the circle is reversed
Go to Image > Canvas Size
- Width = 700
- Height = 700
- Lock aspect ratio = UNTICKED
- Placement = Centre
Click OK
Load colours from your image into the boxes of the materials palette.
I chose a Yellow for the background box and a Dark Green for the foreground box - use the eyedropper tool for this.
Activate the Text Tool & use the following settings:
- Font = Any Text you like (I used LHF Strong Calipe)
- Size = Suitable for your text (I used 72)
- Font Style = None
- Alignment = Left
- Direction = Horizontal & Down
- Anti-Alias = Sharp
- Stroke Width = 3 (change this is you wish)
- Create as = Vector
- Leading = 0
- Kerning = 0
- Offset = -65 (you may have to adjust this if your text is a different size)
- Line Style = Solid
Hold the mouse over the curved line near the Bottom of the leaves, but on the Left side.
When you see the curved text symbol, then click the mouse to get the Flashing line for the text - this will be outside the red circle.
Type in the words of your choice The words should be sitting on the red circle around the Leaves.
You can always extra spaces between the words to space them more.
You can also shift the words around the circle by grabbing the move handle in the centre of the box.
Click the Apply Changes tick when you are happy.
Go to the Layer Palette and open the layers by clicking on the white triangle.
Close off the Ellipse Layer - the red circle, so it is no longer visible.
Add an Inner Bevel and Drop Shadow to the Text. Do not add a Drop Shadow to the Daffodils
Add an Effect of your choosing to sit behind the Daffodils -
Make an extra layer and apply the effect to the layer underneath (I used Mosaic Tiles)
Crop the image to include all of the image, text and the effects
Add a border to display this nicely - use the colours you used for your text
Resize the finish project to 500 pixels on the longest side.
Sharpen
Save this as YourName-Project22a
2. HEART WREATH
Locate the Rose-HeartWreath-sm_4-05~pjs.tub image and open in PaintShop Pro.
Duplicate this image and close the original.
Click on the Preset Shape tool and go to the Tool Bar.
Locate Heart 1 in the Drop down Window
- Anti-alias = Ticked
- Create as Vector = TICKED
- Line Style = Solid
- Width = 2
Place Red in the Foreground box of the materials palette - nothing in the background box.
Draw out a red Heart to fit inside the wreath - start in the top left area.
Adjust the heart as needed, by shifting with the move tool, grabbing the centre node. Also by pulling and dragging the nodes out, up and down.
Try to line up the bottom point of the red heart with the bottom of the Wreath.
Click on the Pen tool and check that Edit Mode is highlighted
Make sure the Vector layer is active in the layer palette.
Click on the node on the Right side of the circle to bring up the long handle
Go to Objects > Edit > Reverse contour - Now the path of the circle is reversed
Use the Dropper Tool to pick a colour to load into the background box of the materials palette.
Also load this colour into the foreground box, by Right clicking on the colour in the foreground box. This brings up the Recent Colours box.
Left Click on the background colour and it will go into the Foreground box.
Now Left click on the Foreground box to bring up the Material Properties.
Grab the slider to the right of the wheel and drag it down, so that you have a darker shade. Click OK
Activate the Text Tool & use the following settings:
- Font = Choose your font (I used Love)
- Size = Suitable for your text (I used 100)
- Font Style = None
- Alignment = Left
- Direction = Horizontal & Down
- Anti-Alias = Sharp
- Stroke Width = 1 or 2
- Create as = Vector
- Leading = 0
- Kerning = 0
- Offset = 0
- Line Style = Solid
Hold the mouse over the curved line on the Left side of the Red Heart.
When you see the curved text symbol, then click the mouse to get the Flashing line for the text - this will be inside the red Heart.
Type in the words of your choice The words should be sitting on the inside the red heart
You can always extra spaces between the words to get it to turn the corner at the bottom correctly.
You can also shift the words around by grabbing the move handle in the centre of the box.
Click the Apply Changes tick when you are happy.
Go to the Layer Palette and open the layers by clicking on the white triangle.
Close off the Heart 1 layer - the red heart, so it is no longer visible.
Add an Inner Bevel and Drop Shadow to the Text. Do not add a Drop Shadow to the Wreath

Add an Effect of your choosing to sit behind the Flower Wreath - Make an extra layer and apply the effect to the layer underneath (I used Kaleidoscope)
Add a border to display this nicely - use the colours you used for your text
Resize the finish project to 500 pixels on the longest side.
Sharpen
Save this as YourName-Project22b
Save this as YourName-Project21b
3. OWN CHOICE #1
Choose any of the images that I supplied or you may use one of your own or get one from Pixabay
Circular Text - either above or inside the circle
You may add other images, border, corners if you wish, but keep the text very clear.
Add appropriate Inner Bevels and Drop Shadows
