Including content to Lesson 12

First - Wait for the Video player to load

You may do the lesson as you watch the video though
Also - Click the full screen button on the player to watch it full screen or you may not see all of the settings properly




You will also need these supplies - TiltAWhirl Font plus doll .pspimage. Here is a zip file - Project 3 Zip File

Download, then unzip to a folder where you store your fonts and .pspimages


1. PREPARE

Browse for the Dolls PSPimage and open in PaintShop Pro
Duplicate the image - Shift + D and either minimize or close the original.

Activate TiltAWhirl Font in Font Base or your Font Manager - then minimize Font Base
    Open a new image
  • 400 x 400 Pixels
  • Raster Background
  • Colour - None = Transparent Ticked
Click OK
Flood Fill with White



2. SHAPES

Make a New Layer and Name it Shape
View > Rulers and zoom in if it easier to see the numbers

    Activate the Selection Tool
  • Selection Type - Rounded Rectangle
  • Mode - Replace
  • Feather - 0
  • Anti-Alias Ticked

Start approximately at (x:50 y:50) and drag it out until you get to (x:200 y:250)
Click Left mouse button to start and hold mouse button while you drag it out - release mouse button when you finish.

Change the Selection to Circle and either Change Mode to Remove OR hold Ctrl key down
Start at (x:125 y:150) and drag it out until you get to (x:165 y:195)

Change the Selection to Star 1 and either Change Mode to Add OR hold the Shift key down
Start at (x:180 y:10) and drag it out until you get to (x:290 y:115)


View > Rulers to turn them off if you wish

Go to the Materials Palette and choose Gradient
    Search for the adsragingred gradient and use these settings:-
  • Style -Radial
  • Angle - 0
  • Repeats - 5
  • Centre Point H - 50
  • Centre Point V - 50
Click OK

Flood Fill the Shape with this gradient
    Go to Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel
  • Bevel - #8
  • Width - 2
  • Smoothness - 60
  • Depth - 7
  • Ambience - 40
  • Shininess - 12
  • Colour - White/li>
  • Angle - 315
  • Intensity - 40
  • Elevation - 30
  • Click OK
    Go to Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow.
  • Vertical - 5
  • Horizontal - 5
  • Opacity - 40
  • Blur - 12
  • Colour -Black
  • Shadow on new layer - Unticked
Click OK

Deselect (Ctrl + D)

Grab the move tool and move it to the top right hand corner
Lower the Opacity to 50


Right click on the shape layer and duplicate
Resize the Copy of Shape layer by 75% - Resize all layers is UNTICKED
Click OK


Image > Flip > Flip Horizontal
Image > Flip > Flip Vertical
Move it to the bottom left corner and the two will overlap each other



3. DOLL IMAGE

Bring up the .pspimage of the dolls
Choose one of them and Copy and Paste as a New Layer
Grab your move tool and move the doll where you would like
Flip her to face the other way if you prefer


Go to Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow.
Use the same one as before



4. ADD TEXT

Create a New Layer and Name it Text
Activate the Text tool

    Use the following settings:-
  • Font - TileAWhirl
  • Size - 72
  • Units - Pixels
  • Font Style - Bold
  • Text Options - None
  • Font Colour - Pick a RED from the Rose
  • Alignment - Centre
  • Direction - Vertical and Right
  • Anti-Alias - Sharp
  • Stroke Width - 1
  • Stroke Colour - Black
  • Create as - Floating

This is the direction icon



Click on the side where you have space and Type your Text
Move your Text into position

    Go to Effects > 3D Effects > Inner Bevel
  • Bevel - #2
  • Width - 12
  • Smoothness - 15
  • Depth - 4
  • Ambience - 0
  • Shininess - 0
  • Colour - White
  • Angle - 315
  • Intensity - 50
  • Elevation - 30
  • Click OK

Go to Effects > 3D Effects > Drop Shadow.
Use the same one as before
Click OK
Edit > Repeat Drop Shadow


Deselect (Ctrl + D)

Move your images where you would like them while you still have layers
Layers > Merge > Merge All (Flatten)

7. BUTTONIZE

    Effects > 3D > Buttonize
  • Height - 5
  • Width - 5
  • Opacity - 100
  • Edge - Solid
  • Colour - RED from the Background box
Click OK


Save this as YourName-Project3a

    Now find an image and font for your own creation based on this tutorial.
  • Make any Shape you like and fill with any gradient
  • Choose any .pspimage
  • Choose a Font you prefer
  • Use any colours you like, but choose ones that match from your image.
  • Use any Inner Bevel and Drop Shadow - try not to cut off your drop shadows
  • Add any buttonize
Save this as YourName-Project3b
