You will need these supplies
There are 2 sets of corners - one is named corners and the other is Image30
The pspimages are the .psp and .tub files
The .jgd is the gradient file
Project 6 Zip File
Download, then unzip to a folder where you store your pspimages, corners & Gradient
The font was used in a previous lesson
1. PREPARE
Browse for the 2 Images and open in PaintShop Pro -
Amazonia_MichaelHideux_MistedByGini_02-24-06.tub
cdw-Morgan-Le-Faye.psp
Duplicate the images - Shift + D and close the original.
Open the Image30.pspimage - duplicate and close the original
Open the ads_corners14.pspimage - duplicate and close the original.
Activate Beachman Script Font in Font Base or your Font Manager - then minimize Font Base
This font was supplied with Project 1
2. BACKGROUND OF IMAGE
Open a new image
- 550 x 450 Pixels
- Raster Background
- Colour - None = Transparent Ticked
Click OK
Place #7fa99e in your Foreground box (pale green)
Flood Fill the transparent image with this colour
Texture Icon and reset to default first and then locate the grid texture - if you don't have this then go to the
Members Area for Lesson Supplies
Place it in your textures folder. Make sure PSP is directed to this folder in File Locations.
Change the Smoothness - 25 and Click OK
Add a New Raster Layer - Name it Square
Activate the Selection tool with the following settings:-
- Selection Type - Square
- Mode - Replace
- Feather - 0
- Anti-Alias - TICKED
- Selection Style - Normal
Draw out a square in the top Left corner
Flood Fill with the Green in the Foreground box.
Apply a Blinds Effect:-
- Width - 5
- Opacity - 15
- Colour - Black
- Horizontal - TICKED
- Light from top left - TICKED
Click OK
Apply Drop Shadow.
- Vertical - 5
- Horizontal - 5
- Opacity - 50
- Blur - 10
- Colour - Black
- Shadow on new layer - Unticked
Click OK
Deselect - Ctrl + D
Add another New Raster Layer and Name it Cutout
Activate the Selection Tool and draw out another square about the same size and overlap them slightly
Flood Fill with the Green
Apply Cutout.
- Vertical - 5
- Horizontal - 5
- Opacity - 50
- Blur - 10
- Colour - White
Click OK
Add another New Raster Layer and Name it Shadow
Apply Drop Shadow.
- Vertical - 1
- Horizontal - 1
- Opacity - 50
- Blur - 10
- Colour - White
- Shadow on new layer - Unticked
Click OK
Lower the Opacity of that Layer to about 60
Close the Square & Raster 1 layers
Activate either the Cutout or Shadow
Merge Visible and Rename this layer - Cutout
Open Raster 1 & Square layers
Shift the Square layer above the cutout layer
Deselect - Ctrl + D
3. CORNERS
Bring up the Image30 Corners, Copy and Paste it as a New Layer onto your image.
Shift it down into the bottom right corner fitting exactly
Apply Drop Shadow.
- Vertical - 1
- Horizontal - 1
- Opacity - 50
- Blur - 2
- Colour - Black
- Shadow on new layer - Unticked
Click OK
Duplicate that layer
Mirror Vertical
Close the Square, Cutout and Raster 1 Layers
Have one of the corner layers activated and Merge Visible
Duplicate that Merged Layer
Mirror Horizontal
Merge Visible
Rename that Layer - Corners
Open the other Layers
Now shift the two squares - take care when shifting the cutout to grab the shadow area.
They are now roughly in the centre - the overlap is centre
4. ADDING THE LADIES
Open cdw-Morgan-Le-Faye.psp
Copy and Paste as a New Layer - She should be below the corners as we just shifted the squares.
Lower the Opacity to 25 and shift her over to the Left side with her eye fitting in the little corner section.
Open Amazonia_MichaelHideux_MistedByGini_02-24-06.tub
Copy and Paste as a New Layer - Make sure you copy the girl layer and not the text
Resize by 80% and Sharpen
Move her over to the Right side and sitting on the bottom - she should also be behind the corners.
5. MORE CORNERS
Now open the ads_corners14.pspimage
Copy Raster Layer 3 which is the bottom left one in the group
Paste as a New Layer onto our image
Flip Horizontal and place it in the top right corner fitting the stem just under the edge of the green corner
Colourize this Corner
Hue - 80 & Saturation - 25
Click OK
Sharpen and Apply the same drop shadow we did to the other corners
Duplicate the corner
Mirror Horizontal & also Mirror Vertical - so it is now in the bottom left corner
6. ADD TEXT
Click in the foreground box - in Materials Palette drag the slider down to get a darker green - #37514a is what I ended up with
Click the Gradient in the background box and then search for NFCoffeeLight
~ Angle - 45
~ Repeats - 5
~ Style - Linear
Click OK
Add a New Raster Layer and call it Text
Activate the Text Tool
Use the following settings:-
- Font - Beachman Script
- Size - 150
- Units - Pixels
- Font Style - None
- Text Options - None
- Font Colour - NGCoffeeLight Gradient
- Alignment - Centre
- Direction - Horizontal
- Anti-Alias - Sharp
- Stroke Width - 2
- Stroke Colour - The Dark Green - #37514a
- Create as - Floating
Click anywhere on the image and Type your Text - Your choice of what you type
Click Apply Changes
Apply Inner Bevel
- Bevel - #1
- Width - 10
- Smoothness - 15
- Depth - 2
- Ambience - 0
- Shininess - 0
- Colour - White
- Angle - 315
- Intensity - 50
- Elevation - 30
Click OK
Apply Drop Shadow.
- Vertical - 5
- Horizontal - 5
- Opacity - 35
- Blur - 10
- Colour - Black
Click OK
Deselect
Rearrange things
MERGE All (Flatten)
Save this as YourName-Project6a
Now find an image and font for your own creation based on this tutorial.
- Now find images, decor and font for your own creation based on this tutorial
- Use any colours you like, but choose ones that match from your image
Save this as YourName-Project6b
