Including content to Lesson 20

You will need these supplies:-
There are 2 sets of corners
A psp fairy image
And a font - Bridgnorth

Project 7 Zip File

Download, then unzip to a folder where you store your pspimages, corners & fonts

You will also need this forest image by Sebastian Unrau from UNSPLASH

1. PREPARE

Browse for the Forest Image open in PaintShop Pro
Duplicate - Shift + D and close the original.
Open the am-corner40.psp - duplicate and close the original minimize
Open the gold corners.psp - duplicate and close the original minimize
Open the @YCG_LisaColquitt2.psp - duplicate and close the original - minimize
Activate Bridgnorth Font in Font Base or your Font Manager - then minimize Font Base

    Open a new image
  • 550 x 500 Pixels
  • Raster Background
  • Colour - None = Transparent Ticked
Click OK
Resize the Forest image by 15% & Sharpen

Activate the Dropper Tool and Choose a pale/mid green from the forest for the foreground box and a cream for the background box
#567675 in your Foreground box (pale bluey green)
#f5e3e1 in your Background box (cream)
Flood Fill the transparent image with the cream colour


2. FOREST IMAGE

Duplicate the Forest image and minimize one of them.
Activate the other Forest image and then Click on the Seamless Tile icon
Click the Default settings button


Click OK


Activate the Cream image
Select All (you have icon for this on your tool bar) OR Selections > Select all OR Ctrl + A

Create a New Raster Layer & Name it Glass Tiles
Activate the Seamless Tiled Forest image - Copy - Ctrl + C
Right click on your Cream image and Paste Into Selection
Lower the Opacity of that layer to 40
Deselect - Ctrl + D


Apply Mosaic Antique Glass Tile - you have an icon for this on your tool bar
    Use the following settings:-
  • Number of columns - 100
  • Number of Rows - 100
  • Symmetric - TICKED
  • Tile Diffusion - 50
  • Grout Width - 1
  • Grout Diffusion - 50
Click OK
Add a New Raster Layer and Name it Forest
Select All

Bring up the other forest image - the one that is not seamlessly tiled
Copy and Paste into Selection
Resize the Forest Layer by 80% - Resize all Layers is UNTICKED
Sharpen
Deselect

    Apply Drop Shadow to the forest layer
  • Vertical - 10
  • Horizontal - 10
  • Opacity - 35
  • Blur - 10
  • Colour - Black
  • Shadow on new layer - Unticked
Click OK
Reapply the Drop Shadow making the Vertical and Horizontal Negative 10 & Click ok



3. CORNERS

Bring up the Gold Corners - We are going to use the 2nd one from the top left - Layer 3
Copy and Paste as a New Layer
Move it to top left corner of the Forest Layer - the inside darker layer - NOT the Mosaic layer
Reapply the Drop Shadow making the Vertical and Horizontal Negative 10 & Click ok


Colourize with these settings
~ Hue - 43
~ Saturation - 255

Duplicate the corner
Mirror Horizontal
Mirror Vertical

Close the Forest, Glass Tiles and Raster 1 Layers - Have one of the Corners activated
Merge Visible
Rename this Small Corners
Open the Other layers

Open the am-corner40.psp - the floral corner
Copy & Paste as a New Layer
Move it to the bottom left corner of the Dark Forest Layer - same layer as we placed the small corners on


Duplicate that corner
Mirror Horizontal
Mirror Vertical

Close the Small Corners, Forest, Glass Tiles and Raster 1 Layers - Have one of the Floral Corners activated
Merge Visible
Rename this Floral Corners
Open the Other layers


4. ADDING THE FAIRY

Bring up the @YCG_LisaColquitt2.psp image, which is the fairy
Select the layer with the image on it and copy it - Paste it as a New Layer
Resize by 50% & sharpen
Shift her to the bottom right corner and line the bottom of the fairy image with the bottom of the Darker forest layer.
Her right wing just touches the edge of this layer and she is behind the small corner - so shift her layer down under the small corners layer.


5. BRUSH TIP

Activate the Paint Brush Tool and go to the Brush Tips and Locate the Bokeh Bubbles

    Use these settings:-
  • Size - 100
  • Step - 27
  • Density - 100
  • Rotation - 0
  • Opacity - 50
  • Blend Mode - Normal
  • Leave all others - Greyed out/UNTICKED
Add a New Raster Layer and Name it Bubbles
Right click in the top left corner a few times so you get pale cream bubbles - because these are random, you can undo if you don't like them.
You can also place a couple of extra ones around, but don't do too many.


6. ADD TEXT

Add a New Raster Layer and call it Text
Activate the Text Tool

    Use the following settings:-
  • Font - Bridgnorth
  • Size - 96
  • Units - Pixels
  • Font Style - BOLD
  • Text Options - None
  • Font Colour - Cream (Background)
  • Alignment - Centre
  • Direction - Horizontal
  • Anti-Alias - Sharp
  • Stroke Width - 3
  • Stroke Colour - Green (Foreground)
  • Create as - Floating
Click anywhere on the image and Type your Text - Your choice of what you type
Click Apply Changes
    Apply Inner Bevel
  • Bevel - #1
  • Width - 10
  • Smoothness - 15
  • Depth - 3
  • Ambience - 0
  • Shininess - 0
  • Colour - White
  • Angle - 315
  • Intensity - 50
  • Elevation - 30
Click OK

    Apply Drop Shadow.
  • Vertical - 5
  • Horizontal - 5
  • Opacity - 35
  • Blur - 3
  • Colour - Cream (Background)
Click OK
Deselect and Move your text to where you would like it to be


7. BUTTONIZE

    Effects > 3D > Buttonize
  • Height - 2
  • Width - 2
  • Opacity - 100
  • Edge - Solid
  • Colour -Foreground Box Colour - Green
Click OK

Rearrange things
MERGE All (Flatten)


Save this as YourName-Project7a

    Now find an image and font for your own creation based on this tutorial.
  • Now find images, decor and font for your own creation based on this tutorial
  • Use any colours you like, but choose ones that match from your image
Save this as YourName-Project7b
